About

Capital Letters is a site for emerging student writers at Capital Community College in Hartford, CT. The work showcased here represents a range of student academic writing from developmental English to literature and eventually across the disciplines (not creative writing). Included with most selections will be teacher comments directing readers to the key aspects of the paper, what the teacher particularly liked about it, or various effective elements. Pieces are categorized by course (e.g. Composition, American Literature, etc.), and tags are used to draw attention to certain components of the text. Therefore, the works are meant both to showcase strong writing and to be used as a teaching/learning tool.

Works are compiled and edited by Kevin Lamkins, Professor of English, one or two times per academic year.  For more information, please contact KLamkins @ capitalcc.edu.
